Last year about this time, I attended Post Traumatic Purpose by Travis Howze .  I assisted in the hosting of the event by the Roanoke Valley Firefighters Foundation.  I had the opportunity to share a couple of meals with Travis and he is the real deal!  The event was attended by over 200 first responders and many of their spouses/significant others.  What a powerful presentation!  I highly recommend attending one of these events, even if it requires driving several hours!  You won’t regret it and you will leave with a better understanding how doing this job can affect you and your family.  And, with that understanding you can begin the make whatever changes to become a better family member, friend and person.  Isn’t that what we all should strive to do?
